If your fridge is looking a bit bare or you just fancy a bit of a wander, Blackheath is putting on its Growers Market again. Apparently, there will be over sixty growers and producers keen to offload some rather delightful local and regional edible bits and pieces. Think of it as a treasure hunt for your tastebuds, where the prize is usually something delicious you can take home and scoff.
You can expect to find a serious spread: fresh fruits and vegetables that probably haven't travelled halfway across the country, various meats, and breads that smell like, well, proper bread. There will be cheeses from cows, goats, and even sheep for those who like to keep things interesting, plus olive oils and local wines. You might even stumble upon some nuts, honey, free range eggs, spices, and all sorts of condiments. For the budding gardeners, or those who just like pretty things, there will be plants and seedlings. And for anyone with a sweet tooth (or just a regular one), a wide range of baked goods will be on offer. Entry is completely free, so that's a bonus. It all kicks off on Sunday 13 July 2025, from 8:00am until 12 noon, at the Blackheath Community Centre on the corner of Gardiner Street and the Great Western Highway.
