On Saturday, 1st March 2025, the Blaxland Gem & Mineral Club is throwing open its doors for an open day at 15 The Valley Rd, Valley Heights. If you've ever fancied yourself as a gem whisperer, this is your chance to see some real-life cutting, grinding, and polishing demonstrations. You might even pick up some clever silver work tips, because why not?

The club is practically a treasure trove with more rocks, minerals, and jewellery than you can shake a stick at—seriously, don't try it, it'll just look silly. Since 1965, these folks have quietly been accumulating over 200 years of experience in the art of making shiny things even shinier. Their workshop is decked out with all the fancy tools you didn't even know you needed in your life. So, swing by, have a gander, and maybe snag a beautiful piece to take home. Entry is free, and who doesn't love that? Just remember, the shindig runs from 8:30 am to 3:30 am, so you might want to remember the distinction between am and pm.
