Join writer and ecologist Viki Cramer for a workshop that dives into the wild world of nature writing, where stories and emotions intertwine to explore our rather complicated relationship with the planet. Let's face it, as humans, we often think we're the main characters in a cosmic novel, but it turns out the trees and critters have their own plot lines too. Viki, who has a PhD and has lived amongst the mulga lands, brigalow belt, and eucalypt woodlands of Queensland, knows a thing or two about how we can all thrive on this shared stage.

With her background in science writing, which has graced the pages of Ensia and Scientific American, Viki will guide you through the art of weaving those complicated feelings into prose. Her contributions to the anthology Ourselves: 100 Micro Memoirs showcase her knack for storytelling, so come prepared to reflect, write, and perhaps chuckle at our sometimes absurd connections with the more-than-human world. You might even come away with a new perspective on that squirrel stealing your birdseed.
