A few years back, a bunch of musicians from the Blue Mountains took a jaunt up to the Northern Territory for a jam session with the one and only Ray Dimakarri Dixon, a heavyweight in Australia's indigenous music scene. What started as a casual musical meetup turned into something far more exciting—a full-blown musical collaboration that has brought together an eight-piece powerhouse band featuring talent from both the Northern Territory and the Blue Mountains, now affectionately known as the Standing Strong Band.

This musical supergroup includes the legendary Ray Dimakarri Dixon alongside emerging artist Stuart Joel Nugent, and their crew of locals includes Terry Morgan, Ian Neil Morrison, Skye Evans, Nic Danta, Chet Miller, and Lulu Levins-Skehill. So if you fancy a night of tunes that are sure to blow your socks off (not literally—we hope you wear them), head over to the Blue Mountains Theatre on Saturday, 1 February 2025, at 7:30pm.
