The Orava Quartet, which Limelight magazine has dubbed "the most exciting young quartet on the block," is about to add some serious musical flair to the Blue Mountains. If The Australian is right, they might just evolve into one of Australia's top cultural exports—move over, Vegemite. This dynamic group consists of brothers Daniel and Karol Kowalik (who are obviously not the same person, just to clarify), along with violinist David Dalseno and violist Thomas Chawner. Together, they're known for electrifying performances that bring both beloved classics and hidden gems of the string quartet repertoire to life.
So, mark your calendars for 4pm on Sunday, 10 August 2025, as these talented musicians take the stage at the Blue Mountains Theatre. Tickets are reasonably priced, unless you're a youth—then prepare to grab a bargain at just over twenty bucks. Remember, if you're getting the concession fare, don't forget to flash that valid card, or you might end up awkwardly backtracking to the ticket counter. So bring your friends, or at least a couple of folks who tolerate your taste in music, and enjoy an afternoon of strings, harmonies, and the potential for a few musical jokes.
